Boutique Pediatric
Physical Therapy, LLC

Our Services
Boutique Pediatric PT, LLC offers comprehensive multi-system pediatric physical therapy evaluations and intervention programs. Recognizing the interrelatedness between all developing systems throughout childhood, we integrate developmental, musculoskeletal, neuromuscular and respiratory assessment and intervention protocols. This approach is broad, yet individualized, and improvement in one area supports improvement in others.
Whether you are concerned about promoting optimal development for your infant who has had a complicated neonatal course, or you want to help your child improve his/her level of physical function at any stage of development, when you bring your child to Boutique Pediatric PT, you can be confident that he or she is in good hands.
Specialized Care at Boutique Pediatric PT:
Neonatal and Infant Assessments:

Did you know that by observing a baby’s quality and quantity of movement a pediatric physical therapist can make inferences about brain development? Did you know that observing how a neonate responds to visual and auditory information can provide predictive information about trajectory of development?
If your baby was born prematurely or had a complicated neonatal course, you want him to be assessed by a physical therapist who has specialized training in assessing and working with neonates. Yocheved has advanced training in Prechtl’s General Movement Assessment and in a Rapid Neonatal Neurobehavioral Assessment. She also spent ten years working in a high risk-infant follow up program and has extensive expertise in this area. Yocheved has a strict ‘no crying rule’ during therapy sessions. Babies can and should develop motor skills without stress!
Developmental Orthopedics:

Has your child been diagnosed with torticollis or with club foot? Does your child walk on his toes, or do her feet turn in when she walks? Postural malalignments during infancy and childhood are common, yet require a comprehensive approach. Yocheved integrates orthopedic, neuromuscular and sensory system treatment strategies to promote optimal alignment and reeducation of the muscular system to sustain that alignment. Yocheved is also a certified TheraTogs fitter and she can determine if this will be an appropriate intervention for your child.
Neurologic/Neuromuscular Disorders:

Children who have diagnoses like cerebral palsy require specialized care throughout their development to help optimize functional achievements, strength, and alignment. At Boutique Pediatric PT, LLC we have a LiteGait body weight supported system which provides children an opportunity to practice and learn standing and walking skills when they otherwise would not be able to. Yocheved has trained extensively in the use of functional electrical stimulation, and she integrates this into her sessions, providing targeted neuromuscular training while her patients work towards improving their motor skills including sitting, walking, or negotiating stairs.
Other System Interventions:

Did you know that the muscles we use to breathe are the same muscles that we use for postural control? Did you know that there is an important relationship between gastrointestinal (i.e. constipation, continence) and urologic (i.e. continence) health and our respiratory and postural control systems? Yocheved has advanced training in the developmental, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular aspects of these systems, and considers all of these factors when working with her pediatric clients. She is able to provide age appropriate interventions and family education to help support these systems throughout development.
Specialized Wellness Services:

All children want to have the strength and energy to interact with their peers, have fun, and live their best lives. At Boutique Pediatric PT, LLC we recognize that children with developmental disabilities don’t have as many opportunities for exercise as they should. Towards the goal of promoting wellness, we offer individualized wellness program development for pre-adolescents and adolescents with developmental disabilities, including those diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. We also offer adaptive yoga classes for pre- adolescents and adolescents with neurologic/neuromuscular disorders. These classes provide a fun and social context in which teens can learn how to adapt yoga and pilates exercises, in the hope that they will use these skills as they transition into adulthood as well.
